The Transformation Project aims to change the Langham School into a new
learning centre. This will mean improvements in the buildings, the curriculum and the way
lessons are taught.
Transforming the School
Buildings
Some improvements have already been made to the school buildings. This is only the
start and more changes will be made over the next three years. We want the school to be a
safe and comfortable environment for teachers and pupils to work in.
We're planning:
 | more ICT equipment throughout the school such as computers and the Internet; |
 | a community learning suite, careers library and CD-ROM library; |
 | improved science laboratories; |
 | a new front entrance, reception and office areas; |
 | a major refurbishment of the school buildings. |
A New Way to Learn

There will be a new curriculum to prepare pupils for successful learning, careers and
their adult life.
All students will follow the National Curriculum. They will learn in new,
flexible ways using the latest computer technology to develop core language, mathematical,
business and life skills.
Were planning:
 | A broad, balanced and enjoyable education
for all pupils. There will be fast track routes for
high achievers and fast access routes to the mainstream curriculum for those who need them
and pupils new to the school. |
 | Individual Work Programmes and Learning Contracts. These
will be decided by parents, pupils and teachers to give every student the education they
need. |
 | To offer academic and work-related courses
with work experience for pupils. This will help them to
take their next step successfully. This could involve links and work experience with
overseas businesses, and exchanges with students. |
 | An independent mentoring scheme for pupils. This will mean students will get feedback, encouragement and support
throughout their school career. |
 | Accelerated GCSEs. There will also be after-school master classes and early start A-levels so
students can aim high. |
 | Subject departments to work with local
companies. This will make National Curriculum
subjects relevant to the world of work. |
 | To raise standards. We want to promote achievement, motivation and self esteem in the whole
community. |
These are exciting
times for Haringeys parents. We have a new Director and a new Chair of Education in
Haringey who are right behind the project. But we need your support too! Seize the
opportunity, get involved in the 'Fresh Start' at the new school!
This web site will update you on how these
plans develop. We want to know what you think and what you would like to see on this web
site.
